Caterpillar Inc. today announced plans to share expertise and solutions for energy leaders managing increased complexity in the energy landscape at DISTRIBUTECH (DTECH) 2025, North America’s largest utility event for electricity transmission and distribution.
More than 20,000 professionals are expected to attend DTECH 2025 to learn about use cases and best practices at the four-day event, which takes place March 24-27 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
On Monday, March 24, Caterpillar will share how data center operators, utilities, power generators, and grid operators can better collaborate to address the current and future reserve gap. Brian O’Hara, senior vice president of infrastructure for CloudHQ, Matt Chambliss, executive vice president of commercial strategy and energy for Aligned Data Centers, and Stacey Doré, chief strategy & sustainability officer for Vistra Corp., will join a panel presentation with Caterpillar’s Melissa Busen, Matt Spitznagle and Dean Musser. The group will discuss tactics to enhance communication, increase transparency and enable better planning, including rethinking power options for the short and medium term and developing innovative solutions. This session will start at 1:00 p.m. in Room C143/149.
To show how distributed energy orchestration can help large power customers stabilize long-term energy costs and provide resilience, Caterpillar’s Stephanie Baughman and Dean Musser will host a customer spotlight panel with Ammar Nawaz, vice president of distributed energy solutions for Alectra Energy Solutions. This will take place in Ballroom D1 at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 25.
Additionally, Caterpillar experts will meet attendees in booth 5304 of the exhibition hall to showcase the company’s latest high-efficiency power solutions with a time-based approach, highlighting a range of solutions tailored to different implementation timelines and customer needs.
“Utilities, power generators, suppliers and customers face unprecedented challenges in addressing the need for reliable power while electrification initiatives and the expansion of cloud services and AI accelerate energy demand,” said Melissa Busen, senior vice president for Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division. “DTECH 2025 provides an ideal forum for us to further delve into the complexities faced by all stakeholders and develop strategies for solutions that deliver lasting, long-term benefits.”
