The Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP), a non-profit organization made of more than 5,500 active energy professionals dedicated to improving the development, delivery and implementation of efficiency, clean energy and demand flexibility solutions announced its award from the National Academies to develop the Florida Clean Energy Pathways Program.
The Florida Clean Energy Pathways Program addresses the evolving needs of Florida’s clean energy sector by partnering with Florida’s clean energy employers and educational institutions to create a comprehensive workforce recruitment, training, mentorship approach that engages the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve better prepare the future of our energy workforce and enhance hiring outcomes. Using real-time labor market data and industry analysis, the program will identify critical roles and qualifications required by Florida’s clean energy sector, while also provide essential industry and soft skills training, career mentoring and job placement resources for Florida’s next generation of clean energy professionals.
“Florida, like many other U.S. states, is facing a substantial labor and skills shortage for both field and office personnel in the clean energy sector. We believe the model we are applying will bridge access and knowledge gaps that will ensure more successful placement and retention of Florida’s next generation of clean energy professionals,” said Jen Szaro, President and CEO of the Association of Energy Professionals. “By providing substantive educational resources, customized mentorship, and stipends to alleviate financial barriers, participants this program will be optimally positioned to immediately take part in Florida’s clean energy market.”
