This year, the TMG Utility Forum launched the NEXT GEN Student Scholarship Program in conjunction with the 2023 TMG Utility Forum in Charlotte, NC, October 3-4, with the Utility Journey to Sustainability theme. “We recognize the need for a new generation in the utility industry and hope to provide students with industry-related programs with opportunities to meet prospective employers and mentors, as well as provide them with timely hands-on information they may not have access to otherwise,” stated Amanda Baak, Vice President–Marketing, at TMG.
The 2023 Utility Forum Next Generation Student Scholarship recipients are Ralph Cullom, Bruno Cinelli Linhales, Renne Boisvert, Dalton Southerland, Parag Saxena, and Andrew Daigle. North Carolina State University recipients include Bruno Cinelli Linhales, who is an electrical engineering student; Renne Boisvert, an Electrical Engineering student with a concentration in Renewable Electric Energy Systems; and Dalton Southerland, majoring in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Renewable Electric Energy Systems. Parag Saxena is studying Data Science and Business Analytics at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Finally, Andrew Daigle is majoring in Environmental Engineering at Montana Tech University.
Renne stated in her application that she “…hopes to see the diverse opportunities within the utility industry, specifically within the realm of renewables and cutting-edge technology, as well as share perspectives when working to solve our modern energy challenges in the US and around the world.”
ElectriCities of North Carolina will serve as Host Utility for the 2023 TMG Utility Forum: The Journey to Sustainability–Opportunities and Pitfalls this coming October 3-4, 2023, in Charlotte, NC. “We are thrilled to serve as host for the 2023 TMG Utility Forum,” said Andy Fusco, Chief Strategy Officer at ElectriCities. “It is essential for utilities to come together to discuss best practices, industry trends, and challenges and opportunities they face.
