- The facility, in the French department of Drôme, was operated by Areva.
- Besse used the gaseous diffusion process and supplied fuel to nearly 100 nuclear reactors worldwide.
Areva has invested more than 3 billion euros ($3.78 billion) in recent years in the new Georges Besse II site
