Integrating the smart grid with the more efficient use of water will be a powerful tool in managing skyrocketing energy demand and building a sustainable smart grid, according to analysts from Black & Veatch.
With world energy use projected to grow 50 percent between now and 2030 and the increase in electricity usage approaching 90 percent, it's imperative that the grid becomes more efficient, according to Dean Oskvig, Energy Division president at Black & Veatch.
Oskvig said that, while the current grid is not "dumb," it's clear that "a smarter grid is going to go a long way toward us accommodating new technologies into the mix."
