The Michigan smart meter initiative took another hit this week when the state Public Service Commission announced its plans to investigate utilities that are installing the meters. The decision follows closely on a recent decision by the Detroit community of Sterling Heights to pass a moratorium on the meter installations until residents are given the choice of opting out.
