Unit 1 of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant near Dothan, Ala., has resumed generating electricity after a scheduled, successful refueling and maintenance outage.
The 25-day outage was completed safely and efficiently.
Plant Farley achieved commercial operation in 1977. The plant has two Westinghouse pressurized-water nuclear reactors, each capable of generating 888 MW. Electricity production resumed April 27 at 12:42 a.m. CT.
