Portland General Electric has opened its new Salem Smart Power Center, an 8,000-square-foot, 5 MW energy storage facility in Salem, Ore., that offers an inside view of a fully functional smart grid project to demonstrate how the integration of renewable energy sources and demand-response technology can increase the reliability and efficiency of energy for business and residential customers.
