- New York's Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced $219 million of incentives for large-scale commercial and industrial customers to invest in energy efficiency and demand response projects, and a further $66 million of incentives to boost combined heat and power systems at large commercial sites.
- The energy efficiency and demand response projects would have to be completed by June 1, 2016, while the installation of combined heat and power systems would need to be completed by May 1 of the same year.
- Both programs are expected to cut up to 125 MW of New York City and Westchester's electricity demand.

New York is currently undergoing a dramatic overhaul of utilities, which will likely change demand response and energy efficiency policies. The state is in the process of making a series of changes to utility regulation that could ultimately eliminate peak load.
Consolidated Edison recently announced it is doubling demand response payments this year. And the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued an order to increase demand response payments in the state.
