The Retail Energy Supply Association (RESA) is supporting a New Hampshire bill that would force the divestiture of Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH), the state's default energy provider and only remaining generating utility.
Since 1996, New Hampshire has had a deregulated utility market. In that time, two of the state's other utilities have divested their generation operations, opting to simply act as power delivery companies.
In 2002, Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) stopped short of a similar divestiture and remains a holdout.
