The chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on Wednesday gave a tentative thumbs-up to construction remedies applied to a S.C. nuclear plant whose license he opposed.
The Summer plant near Columbia became the second nuclear project this year to win a construction and operating license, the first awarded in more than 30 years. The plant is being built by Charlotte-based Shaw Power Group and Westinghouse Electric.
