Utility Dive lead editor Davide Savenije and I recently visited the Opower offices in Arlington, Va.
Opower has been getting a lot of buzz lately with a rumored IPO, but those of us in the utility industry already have them on our radar. Opower is attacking a huge market, aiming to be the simple connection between a utility company and its customers.
As we saw painted on their wall, their mission is to "to motivate everyone on earth to save energy." To what extent they attain that vision has yet to play out, but what is sure is that as a "cool energy company," there is a reputation to uphold when it comes to office culture and employee workspace. And a little bit of playspace.
Utility Dive took some pictures of the office during our visit, and we want to share them with you. (Editor's note: If you hate puppies, beer and halloween costumes, don't view the slideshow. For our piece on how Opower and CEO Dan Yates are helping utilities embrace energy efficiency, click here.)
