The Energy Information Administration (EIA) has published fact sheets examining residential consumers' energy consumption in 16 states, including California, New York and Texas, as part of its Residential Energy Consumption Survey.
These fact sheets include data and charts on:
- Overall energy use, electricity use, and expenditures
- Residential consumption by end use (air conditioning, heating, appliances)
- Main heating fuel
- Use of cooling equipment
- Housing types and year of construction
- Numbers of TVs and refrigerators
