Dive Brief:

• Duke Energy is offering discounts of up to 92% on a new online shopping site for CFL and LED bulbs for some residential customers in four states. The site is available to Duke Energy Carolinas customers, along with its customers in Ohio and Kentucky.
• Besides the retail discount, Duke also offers additional incentives. In one instance, a $19.99 capsule LED light is $15.95 on the site and Duke offers a $7 incentive, reducing the total to $8.95.
• The site is operated through the Energy Federation Inc. of Massachusetts, a distributor of energy-efficient products through utility programs.

Dive Insight:

Duke doesn’t appear to be backsliding from its energy efficiency programs and says that since they started in 2010, 37 million energy-saving bulbs have been distributed to its customers.
