- American Electric Power acquired BlueStar Energy Solutions on March 7, and the Chicago-based subsidiary will officially begin doing business under the name "AEP Energy" as of June 29.
- AEP's announcement states that BlueStar's headquarters in Chicago, as well as its offices in Columbus, Ohio, and Marysville, Calif., will continue to operate from those locations.
- "Changing BlueStar's name to AEP Energy is not only appropriate now that BlueStar is part of AEP, but also an important challenge for our team," AEP Energy Partners President Greg Hall said in a statement.
