A group of Kansas communities that belong to a municipal power pool have entered into agreement to buy an interest in a Missouri power plant.
The Kansas Power Pool (KPP), based in Wichita, serves 30-plus municipal electric communities across Kansas.
Through the transaction, the KPP acquired 7% ownership interest, totaling 40 megawatts, in the Dogwood Energy Facility, a combined-cycle natural-gas-fired power plant in Pleasant Hill, Mo.
