The Jinchang Municipal Government and Shanghai Alex Solar Energy Science and Technology Co. have signed an agreement to develop 1 GW of photovoltaic solar capacity and a factory in the Jinchang City development center over a 5-year plan extending to 2016.
It marks the beginning of Alex Solar's long-term growth plan to expand in the municipality of Jinchang, a city known for its vast land and rich sunshine.
The total investment is said to be about $1.75 billion and is owned, financed and developed by Alex Solar.
