‘North American Power Business’ officially launches
Commercial and industrial affiliate of residential retail energy provider North American Power now in Texas C&I market
BEDFORD, Texas – North American Power has announced that they are now actively partnering with Commercial and Industrial (C&I) energy brokers and enrolling commercial customers under the North American Power Business brand in five Texas electricity territories: AEP Central, AEP North, CenterPoint, Oncor, and TNMP. This new C&I affiliate is based in Bedford, Texas, while North American Power continues to be headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut and serve residential electricity and natural gas customers across 12 states.
North American Power Business is led by chief executive officer Deryl Brown, chief information officer Jim Crysdale, chief sales officer Kris Hertel, chief operations officer Jason Bear and senior business development manager Taylor Brown. Deryl Brown and Jim Crysdale serve in their same respective roles for North American Power’s residential business.
“I’m very excited by the group of individuals we’ve assembled here,” Deryl Brown said. “Collectively, the North American Power Business leadership team has over 150 years of energy industry experience, and is essentially the same team that started two other highly successful C&I retail companies”
Kris Hertel believes that the company’s technology and commitment to excellent service, along with its highly experienced management team, set it apart from the competition.
“We’ve developed a broker sales portal and broker commission portal that are among the best in the industry. Having the architect of the industry’s first energy portal on our team has definitely elevated the functionality and performance of NAPB’s portals,” Hertel said. “Both portals are powered by our new end-to-end technology we have named ‘Joules’, all three of which are proprietary. Add to that the fact that we have the resources to deliver outstanding and responsive service, and we feel we have a recipe for success driven by a very strong value proposition.”
According to Hertel, North American Power Business had a “soft” Texas launch earlier this year in order to stress test these new platforms and systems.
“Our soft launch went extremely well,” Hertel said. “Not only was our new technology fully tested and optimized, but we have also already partnered with dozens of brokers and now serve several hundred C&I customers in Texas. Now we’re ready to throttle up our growth in this market.”
Brown indicated that, in addition to their full launch into Texas, the company will soon be ready to enter new C&I markets.
“At this time, our aim is to enter New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania for both electricity and natural gas by the end of this year,” Brown said. “We believe that C&I will be a major part of this company’s future, and our ambitious growth plans reflect that.”
