- DTE Energy has reached a deal to sell a retired coal-fired plant in Marysville, Michigan, to a brownfield redevelopment company.
- The 167-MW plant operated from 1922 until 2001. It was released for decommissioning in 2011. It will be demolished in phases.

With scores of older, often urban, coal-fired plants set to retire, it may be boom times for redevelopers. “We envision this site becoming a destination stop in Southeast Michigan, and anticipate it will provide good jobs and a strong tax base in the region," said Randall Fernandez, Marysville assistant city manager.
